Social behavior


A very sociable bird that nests in colonies. He spends most of his life not on water, but on land. During the flight, mountain geese move in an angle or diagonal, while the leading goose is replaced by the next one every 4–5 minutes.


Reproduction


There are usually 4–6 eggs in a clutch. Only female incubates. Chicks hatch after 32–34 days. Parents take dry chicks into the water, where it is safer than on land.

In nature, the meeting of mountain geese is very rare. In the conditions of city parks, mountain geese are easily tamed and become the color of reservoirs as decorative birds.
