Elands are the biggest antelopes in the nature. Their habitat is dry savannah and submontane meadows of Central and Eastern Africa. They are enduring creatures and are kept in many Zood of the world.
These magnificent animals also make part of our Zoocollection. They breed well along many years. This year did not make an exception. On the 21st of August a new inhabitant of the Zoo came into life. The peculiarity of elands aы well as of all ungulates is that new-borns raise on their feet soon after their birth. This makes them less vulnerable and less acessible to carnivores. This new-born eland called Augustine, is eagerly lerning the new world that surrounds him, he plays and walks with his mother.
